As owner and president of ShowTx Gregg oversees all projects in house. Although he has extensive technical experience in all areas of production, Gregg primarily performs as a production stage manager on site.

Gregg began his career in the audio-visual field with Cook Consultants in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. When Cook became Blumberg Photo Sound, Gregg stayed until 1983, when he then joined forces with TechServ and managed corporate presentations worldwide. Gregg went freelance in 1987, working as an AVL slide programmer, audio engineer, video projectionist, and stage manager.

In 1989, Gregg opened the first ShowTx office in Deerfield Beach, FL. In early 1994, Gregg moved the ShowTx headquarters to Atlanta where it has grown and continues to be a world-renowned corporate technical direction and production company. Gregg has worked all around the globe, and has developed a great working relationship with vendors worldwide.

Gregg developed and has implemented techniques and formulas for producing site surveys, technical budgeting, CAD drawings, and creative on site execution that have not been duplicated Gregg's concepts in technical budgeting have helped create industry standards. Through Gregg's leadership, the ShowTx staff has always maintained a very thorough and complete handle on all aspects of our projects from the initial calls to the post-production summaries.

James Harwell, Technical Director / Stage Manager

On the road for ShowTx, Jim works as a production manager and stage manager. In house, Jim currently manages the ShowTx - Florida operation, where he also works as a pre-production coordinator.

Jim has been with ShowTx since 1992, when he joined Gregg in the Deerfield Beach, FL office. Jim had also previously worked as a staff member for the staging companies: Cook Consultants, Blumberg Photo Sound, and TechServ, before going freelance.

For nearly 12 years Jim worked freelance as a technical director, stage manager, video engineer, and staging technician. Over the years he has helped develop the high standards signature to ShowTx with his experience and expertise on productions for such industry giants as IBM, Sony, American Express, Delta Airlines, and Coca~Cola; just to name a few. Jim continues that excellence, maintaining a client base in the Florida office as well as integrating projects from the Atlanta headquarters.

Jim has extensive CAD experience and management skills that make him integral to ShowTx operations.

Jim has a B.S. in broadcast journalism from the University of Florida and an AA in Telecommunications from Broward College in Ft. Lauderdale.

Kathryn Kephart, Technical Director / Stage Manager

Kathy joined ShowTx in 1997, and brought with her a wide range of experience from almost every aspect of the entertainment field. Kathy began her career in industrial theatre in the early 1980's, with such milestone events as the Coca-Cola Centennial Celebration, and the Los Angeles Olympic Games.

She worked several years as a production manager/installation supervisor on tradeshow booths and events for corporate leaders such as Coca-Cola, Reebok, and Sony. Kathy then worked several years as a freelance crew supervisor and venue site coordinator for concerts, festivals, and industrial productions. Just prior to becoming a member of the team, Kathy served as the Production Manager for a corporately produced AEA educational theatrical production, touring 4 years both nationally and internationally.

Kathy also has professional experience in television and film from both sides of the camera from staging to stunt work. This experience has been handy in helping to develop the "broadcast" environments, commonly used by several of our clients. In late 2004, Kathy returned to her adopted home in Honolulu, and holds down the Hawaii office. Although she is poised to handle global work from there, she spends a great deal of time on the mainland, working with our clients all across the country. Don’t be afraid to schedule those 9am EST conference calls, as her typical office hours 4am– 1pm HST.

Kathy holds a B.F.A. in acting and directing from the University of Mississippi, and has extensive CAD experience.

 

Derek Corbell, Technical Director

Brought to the team in 1999 as a technical director, we were happy to discover Derek's talents go beyond the specific production environment of ShowTx. We have been able to utilize his in-depth computer skills to elevate our office systems, and presently, he is our acting web manager. But don't let his computer knowledge overshadow his theatrical expertise, Derek began his career working in traditional theater while attending Northeastern College in Boston, MA.

Derek brings with him more than 10 years of work in the field including variety in his background, he has developed vast experience from working on concerts, films, theatrical productions, trade shows, and industrials. He worked freelance for several years in and around the Atlanta area, in a number of positions from rigger to technical director from crew supervisor to production manager.

Derek's credits include work for such marquee events as the 1996 Olympic Games, the NFL Super Bowl, and Atlanta's own Midtown Music Festival. Derek has a B.F.A in theatrical design from the University of Georgia, and he too, has CAD experience.

Caren Carr, Office Manager

Caren is the "voice on the phone" and the office manager for ShowTx. Joining the staff in late-2000, Caren brought a career in business management with her.

For over 12 years Caren handled the business affairs for a variety of fast paced, customer focused, design and production oriented businesses. These included both theatrical production houses and retail production groups. Before coming to ShowTx, Caren was the general manager for Flowers from Holland, a large, high-end floral company, with several facilities.

Prior to that, she served 8 years as business manager for Events Group, inc., one of Atlanta's premier special event and corporate communication production design firms. Caren also has theatrical production experience. She free-lanced for over 10 years as costume technician and craftsperson, working for the Atlanta Ballet, the Alliance Theatre, Events Group and C. Henning Studios.

Caren has a B.A. in speech and communications, and theatre education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and an M.A. in dramatic arts and religion from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Sue Maloy

Corporate clients have come to realize that when Sue Maloy is on your show, you are in good hands. She has a passion for the stage, a calming spirit and great attention to details. Her background in performance and casting gives her a unique insight to stage managing.

Sue  studied theater and music management at Florida Southern College  and is a graduate of  The Florida Southern Conservatory of  Music.

A former Sony recording artist, Sue spent several years touring  before moving to Orlando to Join the band “Tremors & the Earthquake horn.” 

Moving to the production side, Sue spent the next ten years rounding out her knowledge of the industry.  Past jobs include   Casting Associate for Reality Group TV & film casting,  Disney Talent Casting, Contact Musical Acts, and talent producer for Disney Cruise Line, MGM Studios, Silver Dollar City and  Kurashiki Tivoli Park, Japan.

 

Gary Ware, Production Manager / Technical Director

Having over 3 decades of experience in theatre, film, television, industrial, and commercial events; Gary has served as Production Manager and Technical Director with ShowTx for the last 7 years.

From his home in Biloxi, Gary has managed and directed high profile projects for clients such as The Ford Motor Company, IBM, GlaxoSmithKline, Mercedes-Benz, General Motors, and Pfizer. His work as a stage manager includes experiences from dinner theatre to Equity touring companies, from New York Shakespeare Festival to Broadway. Gary has operated his own scenic shop, worked as a Union Stagehand for Film and Television, and worked as a Production Rigger, Carpenter, and Electrician for Industrials and Conventions nationwide.

Gary has 10 years experience as a Lead Technical Director for Industrial and Corporate Events, having started working in this role in the mid-1990's.

Gary holds a BFA in theatre from the University of Southern Mississippi, and has done graduate work in Television at Sam Houston University.

Clay Carter , Technical Director / Rigging specialist

Over the past 5 years Clay has performed as both a Production Rigger and a Technical Director for ShowTx on various Corporation productions including National Sales meetings, product launches and annual car shows.

Clay is the “go to guy” when it comes to solving demanding rigging “opportunities”. He has vast experience in most major venues across America as well as world wide.

From 1986 though 1993, Clay had that “glamorous Rock and Roll experience” as the Production Tour Rigger for such high profile groups as The Rolling Stones, Van Halen, U2, and Bon Jovi.

In the fall of 1993, Clay retired from the “roadie life” to marry to his soul mate, Kathy, and he is the proud father of two beautiful girls.

Besides doing specialty rigging work on several films, Clay has also applied his expertise to many major productions. Among them, “This is Garth” , Garth Brook’s break through event from Texas Stadium, several Super Bowl Halftime shows, and the Atlanta Olympic Games, overseeing the rigging at all major event locations. Clay has been the Production Rigger for the past 7 years on the Dr. Billy Graham TV Events that are held at large scale venues across the country, and he continues to work on many other major productions both locally in Atlanta and elsewhere.

 

Dan "Oz" Osnowitz , Scenic Technical Director

Oz got his start in legitimate theatre in 1982 building scenery. Oz earned a bachelors degree in technical theatre (minor in art & design) from Northern Michigan University, in Marquette, at the Forest Roberts Theatre; primarily as the head electrician. Oz worked in several regional and small professional theatres, as technical director and shop foreman.

In 1992 Oz ‘discovered’ the corporate theatre market, and spent the next several years working as carpenter, then a lead, and finally a project manager at Piper Productions in Orlando, Florida. During this time he took a leave a absence to tour the Broadway shows Oklahoma and Oliver, both year long tours. In the fall of 1996 Oz left Piper Productions to help open Scenicworks, a new scene shop in Orlando.

Oz started doing freelance production work in 1998. He also worked as a rigger for InterAmerica Stage, a permanent overhead installation company.

In 2001 Oz founded Behind the Curtain Productions, Inc, the umbrella under which he freelances. Since the summer of 2003 Oz has worked with ShowTx on a variety of projects, both in the pre-production phase of bidding and working with vendors, and on-site running crews making schedules flow, and keeping budgets in their boundaries.
